A. Problem
The purpose of this lab is to observe how enzymes act on substances to produce products. We will observe how enzyme activity is altered when the enzyme environment's pH is changed.

E. Results(Data) ----->
The first thing I did when creating my graph was doing the experiment and getting all of the data and recording it. Then, I started to fix my graph up on first inserting a graph and picking a line graph because it the only type of graph you could use for this experiment. Next, you would edit it by naming the X and Y axis and giving it a title. Last, since lactose 4.0 g and 8.0 g have the same amount of substrate you would change lactose 4.0 g to a bigger size on the graph so you're able to see both lactose's. |
F. Conclusion
Virtual Lab> Journal Questions
1. Its not always more because there are all the enzymes that are taken and they have hot their limit.
2. The maximum formed is 350(10^6) molecules formed per minute.
3. There is a small amount at substrate arid and many enzymes that are not binding with all enzymes.
4. The dots say that lactose likes pH 7 because it is when the enzyme gets the most product.
5. We can either slow or speed up reaction times between enzyme and sun stables Temp can damage active site.
6. They should make lactose at pH 7 because at 3 neutral pH 7 will produce more products and other levels will affect it negatively.
Conclusion:
The purpose of this lab is to observe how enzymes act on substances to produce products. In my hypothesis i was correct of getting less with a more acidic reaction and more with a basic reaction because of the amount of lactase you put in each one. I learned that lactose will be the highest when you have a pH 7 and anything more or less will make the number of lactase go down. Lactase likes pH 7 as evidenced by its when its the highest number of molecules as show on the graph. Lactase enzyme activity is lowered when pH 7 is higher than pH 7 or lower because lactase prefers a pH 7. Then, if I was to do the lab again I would have changed the test tubes to see the different results I would have gotten. Last, something I might have the different would have been fixing the graph up so it might of look neater instead of having there be two lines over each other.
